LEARN MORE

What's New?

The Honda Accord is completely redesigned for 2018.

Overview

Since the Honda Accord’s introduction in 1976, few models have proved as reliable or as beloved by generations of fans. That tradition of excellence continues with the 2018 model, which is all-new and sure to exceed expectations like so many Accord models before it.

The completely redesigned Accord features sophisticated materials and a more refined and upscale look inside and out. The popular midsize family sedan is larger, lighter, and more powerful and technologically advanced than the outgoing model. In addition, Honda Sensing® Safety technology is now standard across the board, and all-new powertrain options make this Accord the most fun-to-drive and fuel-efficient model yet.

The Perfect Ride for…

Drivers looking for a sedan that has a proven track record as one of the most popular midsize cars ever manufactured. It boasts a redesigned body that has clean, handsome lines and a lower, athletic stance as well as new powertrain options, greater cabin and trunk space, and loads of technology. In other words, if you're looking for a new car for your daily commute that also delivers on the weekends, you’ll want to include the 2018 Honda Accord on your list.

Drive & Handling

A turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine serves as the standard engine. Rated at 192 horsepower and 193 pound-feet of torque, it outmuscles the old 2.4-liter by 7 horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque. The 1.5-liter pairs with either a redesigned continuously variable transmission (CVT) or an optional six-speed manual transmission available only with the Sport trim.

The turbocharged 2.0-liter is inspired by the 2017 Honda Civic Type R. It comes with either a 10-speed automatic transmission or an optional 6-speed manual in Sport trim. Rated at 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, it gives up a little on horsepower but offers 21 more pound-feet of torque.

The Accord Hybrid will return for 2018. It will be powered by Honda’s third-generation, Atkinson-cycle 2.0-liter four-cylinder/dual-electric-motor system that eliminates the need for a conventional transmission. Batteries and electrical controls will be stored under the floor to maintain the Accord's trunk space and rear-folding seats.

Key Features

Upscale Interior

Honda has made significant efforts to make the Accord's cabin more contemporary, comfortable, and quiet. Acoustic glass, structural adhesives, sound insulation and absorption materials, and Active Noise Control technology combine to make this year's Accord one of the quietest to date. Honda has also redesigned the seats in an effort to make them more comfortable and supportive. Thanks to redesigned backrests, variable firmness padding, and denser armrests, the Accord accomplishes that. The stretched wheelbase also increases rear legroom by two inches.

Technology

Technology abounds in the all-new 2018 Accord. Honda Sensing® technology is standard across the board, including a forward-collision warning system with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and new traffic sign recognition. Honda also equipped the Accord with an 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen. You'll be able to swipe, pinch, and zoom to navigate all your applications, and move application tiles to fit your personal preference. Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ are also available.

Alternative Options

While the Accord is all-new this year, designed to add greater comfort and performance to an already award-winning model, Honda offers a number of other options to meet different price points and driving needs. The Honda Civic stays true to the mission of Honda, offering a sleek and sophisticated option for those with a desire for a smaller, more aggressive-looking car. Another option would be the larger and more capable CR-V. Though it's larger than the Accord—it’s a compact sports utility vehicle—the CR-V is perfect for those looking for a bit more space than the Accord can offer.
