Green Machine: Honda Shows Off Stunning Civic Concept in New York

Continuously updating a model as iconic as the Civic isn’t an easy job. But if you needed proof that Honda’s still got that special something when it comes to improving one of its most popular models, well then look no further than the Honda Civic Concept, which was recently unveiled to the world at the 2015 New York International Auto Show.

The main talking point here is the car’s look. Brave, bold, and with attitude to spare, the Civic Concept arrived in New York wearing a nuclear green paint that could very well give the International Atomic Energy Agency cause for concern.

The front’s design is in keeping with Honda’s current design language, but the rest of the exterior deviates dramatically from what we’re used to seeing. This is especially true around the back, where the Civic Concept’s wraparound LED taillights arc upward in a complex and graphically intoxicating manner.

Aside from its devilish good looks and Chernobyl-like hue, the Civic Concept is more than a mere concept; it’s a prelude to the tenth-generation Civic. Additionally, Honda says the next-gen Civic will be the first in the U.S. to incorporate turbocharged VTEC engines.

Along with the new sedan and coupe models, the next Civic will resurrect a body style that has – up to this point – been missing from the U.S. market for quite some time. That’s right, the five-door hatchback is returning.

On top of all that, Honda’s generosity continued when it announced that it would make available the Civic Si and the Civic Type R for the North American market.

Unfortunately, we don’t have more information at this time, but be sure to contact or visit us at Hall Honda Virginia Beach for all the very latest.
